Discovery & Strategy
Discovery that turns questions into answers and talk into action
We align stakeholders, clarify audiences, define what matters most, and build a plan your team can actually execute.
What Strategy means at Triptych
Because we specialize in interactive, Discovery isn't just about finding info. It's about designing the moments that connect people to your organization (and each other), and building the path to get them there.
What you get
- A clear understanding of the problem (and the real constraints)
- A defined audience + journey view of the experience
- A roadmap that's meaningful, actionable, and measurable
- Collaboration with Design + Dev so your build is beautiful and possible
Capabilities
Discovery
How we create alignment and reduce risk before a pixel is pushed.
- Stakeholder surveys
- Audience definition + journey
- Competitive / market analysis
- Content & IA direction (proposed sitemap + key flows)
- Technical discovery with Design + Dev partners (constraints, integrations, feasibility)
Strategy
Frame the problem, define the experience, and set priorities.
- Problem framing + success metrics
- Feature definition + prioritization (what solves the problem first)
- Narrative + storytelling structure (especially for campaign + interactive builds)
- Experience principles (what the experience should feel like and do)
Measurement
Strategy doesn't end at launch, we plan how you'll learn and improve.
- KPI definition + measurement approach
- Analytics plan (events, funnels, conversions)
- Experiment / iteration roadmap

“Working with the team at Triptych made this entire project possible.”
An interactive map, 3D renderings, video production, sound design, robust development; all of it had to be seamlessly integrated to satisfy an exacting client. Their expertise and collaboration was invaluable, and they were always looking to push the work to the next level. Next time a project of this scope comes in, we know exactly where to turn!

Our Approach
01
Alignment
We start by aligning on goals, constraints, stakeholders, audiences, and what “success” means in plain language.
02
Research Sprint
A focused sprint to gather what's needed. May include interviews, content review, competitive review, and early technical planning.
03
Synthesis
We translate inputs into insights: what's true, what's missing, what's risky, and where opportunities lie.
04
Journey Map
We outline journeys, flows, and IA direction so the experience has a clear backbone (storyboard, key interactions, and narratives).
05
Plan
We build the plan you can execute: scope, phased roadmap, risks, and success metrics (may include RACI and architecture/data-flow).
06
Handoff
You leave Discovery with a strategy brief and artifacts ready for design and development, so the next phase moves fast and stays grounded.
What you get
At the end of Discovery, you receive a single, shareable Strategy PDF that includes:
- Discovery summary + recommendations
- Primary + secondary goals
- Audience summary (who we're targeting)
- Journey maps + key user flows
- Sitemap / IA direction
- Content requirements (content models)
- Measurement plan (KPIs + analytics events)
- Phased roadmap (MVP to v2+) + risk notes

Ask About Your ProjectQuestions, answered.
- How long does Discovery usually take?
- Most Discovery engagements run 2-3 weeks for a typical website or interactive build. For larger programs or multi-stakeholder initiatives, Discovery can extend to 4-6 weeks to cover governance, risk, and technical planning in more depth.
- What if I already have everything prepped and ready?
- Great! A brief Discovery will help validate it. We'll confirm what's solid, identify what's assumed, and flag gaps early so Design + Dev aren't forced to solve strategy problems midstream. If you already have what you need, we can roll straight into design.
- Can you help me prioritize what to do?
- We define what matters most, what can wait, and what creates the biggest lift, then build a phased plan (MVP to v2+) so you can move quickly without cutting corners. This isn't our first rodeo, so knowing what is a must, and what can wait, is part of our experience.
- Do you lead strategic workshops or meetings?
- We run both in-person (if feasible) and virtual planning workshops. We like Google Meet, but we can use any platform necessary. We'll recommend the format that best fits your team, timeline, and stakeholder mix. Our downtown Chattanooga office is a great place to meet if face-to-face is just what needs to happen.
- What should I come prepared with?
- If you have them, these help: existing research, requirements, brand notes, analytics access, and a content inventory; a list of stakeholders and decision makers; examples of what you love and hate. If you don't have this yet, that's okay, Discovery exists to build clarity.
